Solar Electrician

Position Overview: As a Solar Electrician at Cove Energy, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to promote renewable energy adoption. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Solar PV Installation:
    • Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement and design of solar PV systems.
    • Install and secure solar modules, inverters, and associated electrical components on various roof types.
    • Ensure all installations adhere to industry standards, local codes, and company guidelines.
  2. Electrical Wiring and Connection:
    • Properly wire solar arrays to inverters, ensuring efficient electricity conversion.
    • Connect PV systems to electrical grids or storage solutions as required.
    • Verify electrical continuity and insulation resistance of installed components.
  3. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues within existing solar systems.
    • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance.
    • Replace or repair faulty components as needed.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, codes, and standards related to solar installations.
    • Document and report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Communicate effectively with clients to address their questions or concerns during installations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid electrician’s license or relevant certification.
  • Proven experience in solar PV system installation and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and electrical regulations.
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
